iPhone comes out top in University survey

The Apple iPhone3GS has unsurprisingly taken top spot as the nation’s favourite phone says a new survey from the University of Salford.
The research asked 2,000 users about their favourite devices, with the iPhone coming out as the most popular device, with a 13 per cent share of the votes. The Nokia 3210 came second (on 8.5 per cent) and the Nokia 6310 third (on 8.4 per cent).
Nokia devices actually made a strong showing in the top ten, with a total of five devices compared to three from Motorola.
Recent releases such as the Palm Pre, Samsung Omnia and HTC Touch have tried to follow the success of the Apple device. It remains to be seen if the forthcoming iPad device will have the same impact on the burgeoning tablet market.
